READ-A-THON STARTS TODAY!

We kicked off the start of the READ-A-THON today at a school-wide assembly! The PTA members explained what the READ-A-THON is, what minutes count, and what prizes can be won. PTA members even dressed up as book characters to get the students excited for Character Dress Up Day!

Students watched two short videos during the assembly. They can be found here:

READ-A-THON packets should have gone home yesterday in the Wednesday folder. Packets contain the rules, prizes, minute recording sheet, and sponsorship forms. If you didn’t receive a copy, you can print it here:

2018 MLK Day of Service – Toy Drive

Way to go BMES families…what a collaboration on the 2018 MLK Day of Service project! The PTA contributed the bins to this project, you contributed the toys and games and BMES coordinated and organized this effort. On Tuesday the toys and games were sorted and placed in bins. Bins will be distributed to classrooms soon to be used for indoor recess.
From the Principal’s newsletter: “A HUGE shout out to all the families and staff who supported our first Indoor Recess Toy Drive. We received an abundance of toys and games to gift each classroom with their own indoor recess bin filled with toys and games.”
