Box Tops Mailbox

The Box Tops mailbox has arrived at BMES!

Send any Box Tops to school by this Friday, October 27th for the first collection of the school year.

Students can give Box Tops to their classroom teacher or place them in our new mailbox (in foyer of school).

Our goal is to earn $500 (that’s 5,000 Box Tops!) for BMES this year.

Box Tops can be attached to collection sheet or in a bag/envelope and submitted year round for various collection due dates.

Thanks for your support!

Pumpkin Patch Day is October 23rd – Volunteers Needed

PUMPKIN PATCH DAY – OCTOBER 23, 2017

On this super, exciting day, a Pumpkin Patch will ‘magically appear’ in the grassy area near the gym.  Students will have an opportunity to visit the Pumpkin Patch and choose a pumpkin just right for them.  During the week, teachers will plan fun, educational activities in reading, writing and math for the students.

We need parent volunteers to help supervise Pumpkin Patch Day and assist students with selecting their pumpkins. If you have any questions about volunteering for Pumpkin Patch Day please contact Ms. Kerry Bulcavage at [email protected].  Please click the link below to sign up!

Donuts with Dads – Thursday, 10/12 @ 9 – 10:45am

Tomorrow is the “Donuts with Dads” celebration where Burnt Mills Elementary School will honor our fathers and significant male role models. Dads/father figures and their children will share in an activity and have donuts together. All dads/father figures are invited to stay throughout the day to enjoy lunch, recess, specials or a classroom visit with their child. Please be sure to you have RSVP’ed to the school, as we are expecting a large group.

At the “Donuts with Dad” celebration, BMES will also launch the Watch D.O.G.S. program. Watch D.O.G.S. is an innovative program focused on education and safety in schools by using positive influence of fathers and father-figures. We need five (5) dads/father-figures to step up and help to launch this great program. Our goal is to get 100 Dads/father figures involved and committed to this important program for students.
